Crystal Hood has worked in the inbound/outbound call center industry for more than 20 years. Prior to working with the Detroit Area Agency on Aging (DAAA), Hood worked as a Member Services Representative at Value Options for 13 years.
In August 2012, she was hired as an Information & Assistance Specialist. Since joining the DAAA she has been promoted to Eligibility Coordinator for the Long Term Care Services Department, and as Information & Assistance Supervisor until August 2014 when she began her role as Manager. In her new role as Community Services Director, Hood will oversee the Information & Assistance, Long Term Care Ombudsman, Outreach, and MMAP (Michigan Medicare Assistance Program) departments.
She currently serves on several committees including the Aging and Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee (ADRCAC), CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) Committee, Single Point of Entry- MIS Workgroup Committee, the Communications Committee, and the Transportation Committee. She also serves as agency representative for the AAA-LGBT Older Adult Coalition Collaboration.
Hood is a Certified Information & Referral Specialist for Aging/Disability CIRS-A/D with the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS), and also a certified MMAP Counselor. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University as well as her master’s degree in Health Care Administration.
