The Detroit Home Accessibility Program has launched a grant that seeks to provide eligible Detroit residents with the means to make modifications to the entries and exits of their homes. The program is designed to ensure that Detroiters can enter and exit their homes safely and independently.

If you’re interested in the Detroit Home Accessibility Program, it’s important to know that there are four eligible modification categories that this program offers. Below, are the four ways that this program can make your home more accessible if you’re a Detroit resident with a disability:
1. Interior & Exterior Entrance and Exit Handrails
2. Alarm Bells or Entry Lighting
3. Exterior Door Improvements
4. Ramps or Lifts for Mobility Device Users
To be eligible for this program, you must meet all eligibility requirements on the DHAP website chnhousingpartners.org/Detroit/dhap.
The eligibility form submission period is set to close on July 13th. Eligibility forms must be submitted during this time to be considered for the program.

DHAP is administered by CHN Housing Partners’ Detroit staff and funded by the City of Detroit’s ARPA funding. Detroit Housing Network Members provide application support for residents who have submitted an eligibility form and are deemed eligible.
